Blue Oak BBQ in New Orleans

Hands down the best BBQ in New Orleans. Overall a great restuarant in general. There specials are always amazing, and that's putting it lightly. One downside is parking. Place is so popular during peak hours you'll have to park down the street in a neighborhood. Wish they'd allow delivery, but you can get takeout.

Thank you tremendously for your Jazz Fest-inspired food distribution the last two weekends. the food and music were awesome, of course, but the attitude of the people giving out the food was THE BES. Thank you for feeding our community!

Man the food here is incredible just thinking about it is making me hungry.. I have gotten a few things off of the menu and been happy everytime.. the smoked chicken salad sandwich is so good with the garlic mac and cheese and some slaw.. they also did some great things for the community during the pandemic so I fully support this local business.

Meat was smoked really well. Tender ribs and brisket. Awesome taste. Sides - potato salad and baked beans were pretty good too!

This is hands down the best BBQ i have tried in NOLA. The wings are amazingly done. The Sandwiches they have are paired perfect with the ingredients. Brisket is delicious. This place does not disappoint. 👍

Some of the best ribs I have had, excellent brisket and pulled pork too. Fabulous sides,especially the beans.Great beers on tap as well.

They were okay. I got the Mac and Cheese which was pretty good. I'm docking one star because there was no silverware given to me(for takeout) and luckily I had one spoon at the place I'm staying. They also didn't have Banana pudding which I was bummed about but I'm sure I can find it elsewhere.

Food always good, but my order is always missing something. Must be a glitch with the online/take-out process.

Try the brisket sandwiches. They're amazing.

Stumbled here randomly from City Park and the food was delicious! Chicken and spare ribs were tender and flavorful. The sautéed cabbage with sausage was great for a side dish and their garlic Mac and cheese was flavorful. There are options on the table such as spicy Carolina and jerk BBQ for additional flavor. Highly recommend, the atmosphere is light and not over crowded if you're looking for something away from French Quarters!

What a great place!!! Definitely worth the effort to get there. Plates are amazing and certainly a healthy portion. Street proximity Makes it easy to find.

The food is top-notch, service friendly, cocktails well-named, and ambiance relaxing. I've read reviews that say it's always busy, and maybe that's so. But tonight was nice. The brisket is good, but goes even better with the jerk chicken sauce. The roasted garlic Mac and cheese is easily one of my favorite sides; the garlic comes through nicely. The Brussels sprouts were a little too saturated in sauce, but my partner's we're less so, I probably got a bad scoop. They were tangy though. My biggest shout-out goes to the Leather Daddy (love the name). It had a large cube ice and delicious cherry. An excellent cocktail! To wrap: excellent casual date atmosphere with excellent food, cocktails, and ambiance. When it gets cooler I'll be sure to visit in the day time!

I stumbled across Blue Oak BBQ, after doing an internet search for good ribs in New Orleans. I'm so happy that I did. The service was great.... and the ribs!!! These were some of the best ribs that I've had made in a restaurant. I ate here 2 days in a row. I did find the sides "different" than I'm used to, which doesn't translate to bad. For example, the consistency of the potato salad was not as chunky nor yellow as I'm used to, but smoother and white with lots of green onions. All in all, I will be back for certain for the full rack with no sides. PS. They have old school banana pudding for dessert.

Was excited to get back to this place after everything going on with Covid lately. Missing my Blue Oak BBQ!! Went with my mom and brother and had another wonderful experience. Everything was clean and all the necessary sanitation and protection steps regarding Covid had been taken. Delicious pulled pork sandwich with side of mac and cheese and brussels sprouts and wings with side of chili. Always served fresh and hot and fast.

Called them to Order to go. The girl that took my order had a very hard time hearing and understanding me and kept repeating the wrong thing even when I would correct her. When we arrived our order wasn’t even in the system and I absolutely called the right place. I did check with them. When we got home to eat the shredded brisket was ALL burnt and dry. Pretty sure they scraped the bottom of the pan and gave us what was left. We didn’t touch it. Don’t order here.

Let me tell you this meat was delicious omg so moist, flavorful, cooked to perfection and a decent portion so darn good, however the sides were a big disappointment I mean horrible, the beans tasted as if they were stored with boxes, it had a stale box taste from it. They probably stored it in the refrigerator without a proper covering if it wasn't for the taste of Box in the beans they would have been perfect. the macaroni and cheese take it off the menu throw it out not good and that's why I went there for the macaroni and cheese but I'm not too upset because people really can't make it everyone thinks they got the best macaroni and cheese but far from it but it's a must go the meat is terrific And when you're stuffed you can go to city park and walk it off

I can't believe it took me this long to finally go here but now that I have, it'll be a weekly thing for sure. Even though it was following a parade and so the line was really long, it went quickly and came out shortly after I ordered. Everything we had was delicious and with a limited menu, you can't go wrong.

Some of the best smoked meats in South Louisiana from Texas to Mississippi. They have been in business for a while now and it shows how much farther they have taken their already perfected cooking and elevated it even more. We've been here a few times and never disappointed. The last two times we ordered the "little bit of everything" which includes quite a few different meats about 5 sides and the brussel sprouts. Man the brussel sprouts could have a cult following on that alone.My two boys 3 & 6 always start off saying they want BBQ sauce but when I tell then it isn't needed and to try a piece without sauce they agree and then eat the meats with only their smoky goodness.If you have a big party expect a wait. They are always busy and most of the time you have to sit at communal tables which is fine for us.Bring your appetite.

Delicious food, fast service, good menu! The patio is really nice here. Good location with parking nearby, and many seats. I had the BBQ brisket burger which was delicious.

I meet with friends this place many times a year! This is my favorite place to dine. I go there regularly. The meals are very good, the team is professional and the cost is affordable. I like going in this restaurant to have a rich lunch.

This place has too good of food to just have two bathrooms. The daily specials are off the chain. Makes me come back and back. Definitely a go to for regulars or tourists. Atmosphere is super laid back.

This place was awesome! We had the wings and BBQ nachos. You wish your nachos came out looking like these IF I HAD JUST TAKEN A PIC! Great flavor all around.

The BBQ not only met but exceeded my Texan standards, which was a real surprise. The drinks are excellent and they have a solid selection of local brews. Great casual atmosphere and you definitely get more than your money's worth here. I will definitely be coming back!

Chicken was awesome, crispiest skin I've ever had on chicken. The ribs were good, brisket a bit lacking in flavor. Jerk BBQ sauce was tasty, seems to have applesauce in it, yummy. They were lacking a sweet BBQ sauce which was my only disappointment besides the oddly flavoured sesame ginger slaw.

These guys did a large catering order for the company I work for, and the food and experience was amazing. We all loved it

I had them for the first time when they handed out meals for unemployed service industry folks. Holy moly. The pulled pork is fantastic. They are also a genuinely good business that took care of people during a crisis.

So I do not eat meat, but my husband does and he wanted to come here to try the BBQ! He got the combo platter and LOVED it! Great flavor and great price. I got a couple sides and the garlic Mac and cheese was amazing! Definitely would come back here.

Good food and fast service. Food is cooked perfectly. The daily side is always something to consider and never disappoints. Price is good for the quality and the quality is excellent. It's also a price to expect for most places of similar type. Like you would expect from a quality BBQ place, the brisket is great. Their sauces are on the table and I prefer the Jerk BBQ sauce.Overall great place that I look forward to returning to on occasion.

Such good BBQ, definitely worth every penny. Service was great and restaurant very clean. Note that there is little parking on site but easy to find a spot in the neighborhood.

Because of the virus going around we phone ordered our food. The service was great and the food came fast. Spicy chicken sandwich with coleslaw was so good.

We decided to have my birthday lunch there after visiting the city park. The food was great, but the service was disappointing by one of the female brunette employees cleaning outside on 02/07/2020. She explained that we couldn’t take the bottled sauces to their outdoor seating area, and just snatched them right out of our table without even giving us a chance to pour the sauce. The table across us got to keep the sauces they took from the inside and she didn’t say anything to them as she passes by them multiple times. I understand she was just following the rules but her approach was very disrespectful. If you’re looking for a welcoming environment like most of New Orleans, I wouldn’t recommend this place.

Food was great. The best part of my meal was the baked beans. They were so good I had to get seconds.

Ok, The Pulled Chicken Sandwich and the Pit Viper are pure gold. The taste will blow you away, so savory. Pork Cracklin could have been done better(more crack😁) and the portion was small.

The food was really tasty and the service was quick. I love the outside seating especially when it's a nice pretty day. The prices of the food can be steep depending on what you order for example this plate was $20 after tax because I added a fountain drink but it was still pretty good. I would definitely go back esp for Happy Hour

A friend invited me to Blue Oak to eat for my Birthday. I had passed it many times on my way home and wondered if they had decent BBQ. The Food was absolutely amazing. The prices to portion were great, and the taste was phenomenal. I'm on Keto diet and I was able to eat a 3 meat plate with a double side of Ginger Slaw. If you like BBQ and you have not been to the Blue Oak, you are missing out. Plenty of outside seating available with a nice ambiance. I will definitely be returning with friends . Thank you!

Great food overall. Fresh ingredients. We ordered the DOOBIN' LOOBIN. With some Mac & Cheese and a side of ribs. The sandwich was great duper tasty and very fulfilling. The Mac & Cheese was also great, the texture and flavor were exquisite. Lastly the ribs were cooked to perfection, the meat basically melted with full of deliciousness. I highly recommend this place for family and friends. The Blue Oak BBQ also offers pick up if you call ahead and an employee outside if you want to carry out as a walk in. The place was also a great looking venue, very friendly staff and they keep the place clean and with all the distance necessary for the new health concerns. The only thing i didn't see were face mask for patrons in case they forgot theirs. I have seen that in several restaurants for patrons convenience and safety.

I got the family meal and for $65 yall could have put more food in that pan. 3 slices of brisket, 1 leg quarter, 4 chicken wings, 1 sausage link, 4 ribs, a handful of pull pork, a few onion slices, a few slices of pickles.(the meat is tender but its lacking seasonings). You get 6 sides and all was about a cup each. The brussel sprouts was good considering I don't like them. Mac n cheese was like vegan mac n cheese(ugh). The cheese wasn't sticking to the noodles. The baked beans was GOOD!! Potato salad was ok just chunky and needed some other flavors beside salt. Coleslaw was ok(well my kids like it). The special of the day was not to my liking. The pan of jerk bbq wings was ok.

Loved everything about this place! AMAZING FOOD!!!!!!!! All the meats and all the sides are phenomenal - no complaints about anything we ordered. I loved the outdoor seating area. And I loved that you can watch them cook everything while you wait in line to order.
